The post-processing process flow is as follows: gun color-passivation-hardening film-coating coating.
1. Passivation Improve the corrosion resistance of the coating and stabilize the color of the coating. There are two methods of passivation: chemical passivation and electrochemical passivation. The chemical method is easy to operate and the electrochemical method has good effect.
(1) The chemical passivation formula is as follows:

Chromic anhydride 40~60g/L temperature room temperature
Acetic acid l~2ml/L Time 20~60s
(2) The formula of electrochemical passivation (the plating is hung on the cathode) is as follows:
Potassium dichromate 8~12g/L Cathode current density 0.2~0.5A/din2
pH l2.5 (adjusted with sodium hydroxide) Time 30~40s
Temperature 60~70℃
2. Hard film Aging coating to improve the wear resistance of the coating. After the coating is passivated, it is washed, placed in an oven, and baked at 100°C for 15 to 30 minutes.
3. Coating with overcoat paint to extend the service life of gun color coating. For some low-grade plated parts, drying is sufficient. You can also apply a little oil.
If the plated parts have to go through multiple assembly or higher grades, or are often rubbed during use, they must be covered with a layer of varnish. The varnish can be acrylic varnish or polyurethane varnish, etc., and can be dipped or sprayed. For higher-grade plated parts, cathode electrophoretic coating must be used, the paint film is smooth and even, and the brightness is good.
